GE Speedtronic Spare Parts for Gas Turbine

Throughout the years a variety of control systems have been developed for these turbines. Speedtronic is the name of the turbine control system. Since the installation of the first prototype in 1968 over 3000 Speedtronic control systems have been installed.

In the beginning this system consisted of a combination of a limited number of electronic cards and a large number of relays. In its' current version the system consists of 4 microcomputers which process an increasingly refined number of control- and diagnostic tasks.

The ongoing development of the Speedtronic control system is always focusing on an increasing efficiency and reliability of the gas turbine as well as the flexibility and simplicity of the controls.

Later systems took care of increasingly refined software for a gradually developing temperature during start-up and operations thus making an important contribution towards an increased lifetime of the major turbine parts.

Ever since the first gas turbine was commercially exploited by the General Electric Company (a gas turbine MS3002 in 1948) the following control systems have been applied:

  1. FUEL REGULATOR
  2. SPEEDTRONIC MARK I
  3. SPEEDTRONIC MARK II
  4. SPEEDTRONIC MARK II + ITS
  5. SPEEDTRONIC MARK IV
  6. SPEEDTRONIC MARK IV SIMPLEX
  7. SPEEDTRONIC MARK V
  8. SPEEDTRONIC MARK V SIMPLEX
  9. SPEEDTRONIC MARK VI HMI
